The objective of the Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (RQF) qualification is to equip learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career or further study in the health and social care sector at a managerial level. The programme enables learners to demonstrate their skills by producing evidence from their work or training activities.
Learners will study level 4 and 5 units, worth 120 credits per academic year with a total credit value of 240 credits (equivalent to the first 2 years of an honours degree).
The Level 4 units lay the foundations of learning by providing an introduction to contemporary Health and Social Care topics.
The units combine both theoretical and practical knowledge in the profession and will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of equality, diversity, professional development, patient assessment, resource management, communication and health and safety.
The Level 5 units give learners the opportunity to progress in specific subject occupational areas. Learners will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of effective partnership working, managing the care of vulnerable individuals, team management, professional supervision practices and how to complete a research project.
Successful completion of this qualification will equip learners with industry-specific and practical skills, enabling them to successfully apply their knowledge in the workplace, enhance their career prospects and allow progression to study further.
Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (RQF) qualifications represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competencies that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
Successful completion of the Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (RQF) provides learners with the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions, including the Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (RQF).
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners are also eligible to gain direct entry into Year 3 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
COURSE OUTLINE
The Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (RQF) qualification consists of 11 mandatory units, 240 credits, 2400 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and the recommended Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is a minimum of 1100 hours.
To achieve the Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (RQF), learners must achieve 240 credits in total, of which 120 credits are at Level 4 (6 units) and 120 credits are at Level 5 (5 units).

REQUIREMENTS
These qualifications are designed for learners who are typically aged 18 and above. The entry profile for learners is likely to include at least one of the following:
- Relevant Level 3 Diploma qualification or equivalent qualification
- GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects or equivalent qualification
- Mature learners with relevant management experience
- Sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria
- Learners wishing to study and are non-native English speakers must have a minimum level of English language competency*.

ASSESSMENT
All units are internally assessed by UKPDA and externally verified by Qualifi Ltd. The qualifications are criterion referenced based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.
The Assessor judges that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria.
Who is this Course for?
Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (RQF) is suitable for learners seeking to enter the health and social care sector or committed towards health and social care studies at a higher level. This qualification is suitable for part-time and full-time learners because they can progress into employment and further health and social care studies.
ACCREDITATION
Duration
The minimum time to complete this Qualification is 6 Months. Learners will have access to their Qualification via the Learning Platform for up to 12 months from the date of enrolment. During this period, flexibility will be given to learners to complete the course at any time between 6 months to 12 months.
CERTIFICATION
Upon successfully passing the qualification, the learner will get an Ofqual Regulated Certificate (Hardcopy) from Qualifi Ltd, an Ofqual Regulated Awarding Organisation.
