REQUIREMENTS

The ATHE Level 4 Diploma in Business and Management is designed to be accessible to learners who are ready to begin higher-level business study with UKPDA. The qualification is open to motivated learners who can meet the academic and language standards required for Level 4 learning.

Learners are typically 18 years or above.
Good understanding of the English language is required to complete assignments and access learning materials.
A GCE A Level profile (2 or more subjects) with 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above is usually accepted.
A Level 3 qualification, such as an ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business or a related subject, is also suitable for entry.
An Access to Higher Education Diploma may also be accepted.
Equivalent international qualifications are considered for admission.
Learners must have an appropriate level of English, such as:
- IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
- CEFR B2 level
- Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 162 or above
- Pearson PTE Academic 42–49
Mature learners may also apply based on relevant work experience in business or management roles.
Prior learning or experience may be considered through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or exemptions where applicable.
UKPDA completes an initial assessment to ensure learners are ready for Level 4 study and can successfully progress.
Additional support may be provided where needed to help learners succeed.

This qualification is open to learners with an ambition to grow in business and management, combining both academic and practical routes into progression.

ASSESSMENT

All units in the ATHE Level 4 Diploma in Business and Management are assessed through internally marked assignments. Each learner is evaluated against clear Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria, and results are awarded as Pass, Merit, Distinction, or Fail. To achieve a Pass, learners must meet all required criteria for the unit. Higher grades are awarded when learners demonstrate a stronger understanding and better application of knowledge in their work.

Each unit is supported by an ATHE assignment that guides learners through required tasks and includes extension activities for higher grades. Assessors review submitted work carefully to ensure it meets the required standard before awarding a grade. Clear feedback is provided to support learner progress and ensure fair and consistent assessment decisions. Enter the second year of university degree programmes that accept ATHE progression routes.
Apply for Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) or Higher Level Apprenticeships in business and management fields.

The ATHE Level 4 Diploma in Business and Management is accredited to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). Duration

Learners can complete this qualification in a minimum of 6 months, depending on their study pace and availability. Full access to the online learning platform is provided for 12 months from the date of enrolment. This flexible learning window allows learners to finish the course at any point within the 6 to 12-month period.
